After I installed FlashChat Integration 2.0 mod and set everything up so that it is working fine I keep getting text in my header after I attempt to install any other mod. The installation installs succesfully but I keep getting the text or code above the header. I have tried to move the ?> at the end of the script in the modifications.english.php but I am still getting that problem. What am I doing wrong?

www.tbsclan.com/forum is the site with the problem

Have a look in Modifications.english.php and see if there are any text strings that are outside the ?> or <?php

I get this often and it is down to me forgetting to chaage the file format I am uploading. When I pull down a .php to edit locally with MS Expression web it always saves it as a UTF-8 for some reason. The fix is to open it in Notepad and then save as choosing ANSI before re-uploading it. Check whatever you have been editing.

I have been doing the edits in notepad and I just checked how it was being saved and it is being saved as ANSI, no matter what i do i still get the text above

NEVER EVER do edits in Notepad. It does funky things with PHP.

Try Notepad++ or Notepad2

Do you really think that is  the problem? I wont use notepad anymore thats for sure. What else could be going wrong?

As JBlaze stated never use notepad. What he has linked to is tried and proven to work for SMF and editing php and other file types like css and html. Check the packages you installed with the package parser and see where the text is located and then check those/that file.
