Norv

Please read each link posted below and replace "www.mysite.com" with your SMF site, then try opening in ucweb:
http://www.mysite.com/index.php?wap
or http://www.mysite.com/index.php?wap2
or http://www.mysite.com/index.php?imode
Does any of them work?

I don't understand what you are saying.  For moblie phones all you need to do is add :wap2 to the end of the page (such as http://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?topic=319824.0;wap2 for this topic).
For it to automatically open, all you need is a .htaccess rewrite.

You will find that phpBB is far less secure, and has far less amount of features than SMF.  Not to mention that some MODs and updates (namely the "SEO" MOD) take hours and hours to install, while SMF has an easy to use package manager that does code edits for you.

What is it that is causing you problems exactly?

All these are options to try with mobile browsers:
http://www.mysite.com/index.php?wap
or http://www.mysite.com/index.php?wap2
or http://www.mysite.com/index.php?imode

Simply replace http://www.mysite.com/ with the address of the SMF forum in question.
For example, to open this topic here
http://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?topic=319824;wap
http://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?topic=319824;wap2
http://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?topic=319824;imode

Aleksi "Lex" Kilpinen

Most mobile browser actually can either open the default index, or will automatically be transferred to one of those.

Maybe the user agent isn't being picked up or present for that mobile browser to tell SMF to automatically render in WAP mode.  What is the user agent details for that browser?

I assume it's this one?

Hi

i read all ur replys

but smf have demerits in case of ucweb

and plz note that we are not making fake id's

i know there is a wap version for mobiles

but i am not saying that ,SMF script is not loading in UCWEB

wap version also

and once more ,dont oversmart simmer ,

u r tring to show ur smartness to others..

it will not help community and also smf

and one of the most thing is al u are trying to hide this problem and continue to smf

if anybody can solve the problem ,then smf is awesome

actually we all like smf instead of phpbb

but phpbb is opening in mobile browsers very easily

************************************************

Simmer i know that smf is loading in opera mini and others...

i am not saying that....

u know about 75% of mobile users are using ucweb instead of opera mini

so how we avoid this browser ?

=========================================

Any way plz take a look to this problem, not to against us

Thank you !!

Actually, I've never used that browser - so I wouldn't know what the problem really is,
but I would think that SMF should load in just about any browser if you just add the ;wap in the end.
And there is a way to make SMF recognize an "extra" mobile browser.

Did you look at my reply about using .htaccess?  I'm pretty sure it will do what you want.

Oldiesmann

Just installed the latest version of UCWeb on my phone (Nokia N76) and see the problem you're talking about. This appears to be an issue with the browser itself, not SMF. Interestingly enough, if you hit the * key to refresh the page after you get the blank page, it will load everything like normal.

Does it render other php forums first time Oldiesmann?
