install SMF 2.0 Beta 3.1

Hi,

I am getting a SMF 2.0 Beta 3.1 forum wich I will start to administrate, and I wish to make it online on my server. I have only the database from forum, no files at all.


I have downloaded the package from SMF 2.0 Beta 3.1 forum, and started installing:

1st error "missing file under /themes/default/language - probably your ftp missed that files..."
I have checked original downloaded package and that foldes doesnt exists. So I downloaded SMF latest release and added myself the missong folders. This error become solved.

2nd error, I dont remeber exacltly what it was, but I think it was again related to missing files...

I quited installing SMF 2.0 Beta 3.1, it looks almost impossible. And attempted the latest smf_2-0-rc1-2_install
I made install and forum did work.

Now I would only need to import database, to the new one created in installation.
But I am having an error when importing in phpmyadmin:

Are you using the same database prefix?
It seems you have saved the backup without structure, only data. Then you need the exact structure it needs, to exist in the database. And for this, the database of a newly installed SMF 2.0 RC1.2 might be good enough, but you need to have the same prefix of all tables, and the tables should be all empty.

You are right, and Ive made a new backup using "complete data" for database.
now I am having a new error... but also found that this error is only happening on a particular server I am using. I have made the same on other server and I have success.
