Resize avatar in header

I want to resize the avatar of the users in the header, but on the profile page it must stay like in the settings...
Is it possible?

This might be a rough approach (not an expert on it), but you could try taking the <img avatar code from Themes{theme_name}/index.template.php and adding height="50%" width="50%" to the image (adjusting the percentage values as you see fit). How do I modify files?

Again, HTML resizing might not be the best solution, but probably is the easiest to go about doing.
