Jumping type during posting

Has anyone ever heard of type jumping or moving around during posting? It makes it difficult and frustrating for the members to post, highlight text, all that stuff when you're typing and the line of type suddenly jumps up or down the page. We are using SMF 1.1.10.

Would you happen to be using Internet Explorer 8 by any chance?

It  likes to do funky things like that. Try switching compatibility mode.

If not, which browser are you using.

This is an ie8 bug unfortauntely.

We've added a temporary workaround in our svn for 2.0 rc2 when it is released.
And we've also added a provisional fix (an emulateIE7 tag to our 1.1.x svn branch for 1.1.11 (IF and when that is released))

There is another thread on this somewhere.

It appears to be an IE8 issue.

Click on the "broken paper" icon just to the left of the "green arrows" refresh icon, and that should, for now, fix things...
