How can i make some words become a link automaticly?
like when you type the word CAR, it would be come a link of your advertisers!
Thank you

Arantor

Normally your advertiser gives you some Javascript for that.

You can use the word filter for that.

If at first you don't succeed, use a bigger hammer. If that fails, read the manual.

You go into the admin area, to Posts and Topics > Censored Words, then you setup a list of words to search for, and words to replace with - and the words to replace with can have BBcode as far as I know.

Yes, that's because their advertisers gave them some Javascript to make that work. You need to talk to your advertisers about that.

but how or where will i place the javascript?

Arantor

That depends on what Javascript you get. We'll be able to help you with that - once you get it from your advertisers.

Try this.

( [ ) url=the link you want to show as a word] the word you want to show as the link[/url]

I used the ( ) around the [ to make the formula show for you. Just remove the ( ) and go from there.

[url=      and so on.

Thanks, so if i want the word SUSPENSION to be the link, and this is the link www.bajasuspensions.com
but where would i place this?

ascaland

Then you would do this,
( [ ) url=www.bajasuspensions.com]SUSPENSION[/url]

Arantor

Actually, you'd do:
[url=http://www.bajasuspensions.com/]SUSPENSION[/url]

But you'd have to do that yourself. It's not like the advertiser you were linking to that does it automatically based on Javascript.

Well technically yes you would use what Arantor posted, but I didnt know the code tags do that. >.<

Arantor

Project Evolution - [code] will post almost anything normally, slightly less here (it doesn't like ] ] put together because of the wikilinks mod here), you can definitely use it to get around tags being embedded normally.

Note also you can use [nobbc] to prevent tags being parsed.

As I have said to you, elforoof, the automatically changing part is managed by scripts provided by the advertisers - you have to do nothing except add the script to your site. So you need to go out there and find an advertiser that does this.
