Easy Theme Question (I assume)

Hello everyone!

I'm new to the SMF software and have been browsing the site for a while installing different mods and such. One thing is a bit confusing however. When I install a new theme, some of the older ones specifically, the buttons don't load the images included with the theme and I just get ?'s instead. Is this because the theme is older and needs to be upgraded manually or does it mean it doesn't come with a button set?

Any help would be appreciated. The software is great either way. Just trying to figure this out.

What themes are you trying to install and for what SMF version?

Always make sure the theme is compatible with your SMF version before downloading it.

Thanks for the quick response. As you assumed the themes I had been trying were created and last modified in 2006... I guess I should have known better. They weren't compatible with the new one obviously. My version is 1.1.10 and they were compatible with 1.1 RC2 and 1.1 RC3.

More specifically I was installing Arcane Magic and for a play-by-post rpg campaign.
