I need help installing 2.0....

Okay, I have downloaded the SMF 2.0 RC1.2 from the downloads page as a zip. NOTE: I DOWNLOADED THE Large Upgrade, SHOULD I HAVE DOWNLOADED SOMETHING ELSE? I ALREADY HAVE SMF INSTALLED, I'M 1.1.10. So, where do I go from here?

First thing you will want to do is to retrieve a backup of your forum's database under Admin > Maintenance.

After downloading and extracting SMF, you need to upload and overwrite all your current SMF files with the new files provided in the large upgrade package. This is usually done using FTP client. (How do I use FTP? / What is FTP?) Following that, you will need to go through the steps using upgrade script. (www.myforum.com/upgrade.php) Everything is explained in detail if you visit the "Upgrading SMF" link above.

DO NOTE: That all mods and theme's will be lost upgrading to SMF2.0.

Freak it! I just screwed up the forums, and I can't get them back. It's okay anyway. I only had 1 other member.... lol. Can you just tell me how to intall the full version of 2.0?

However, the large upgrade should not screw up your board. What exactly happened? What is wrong? We can probably work from that.
