I need some help. My mod are not showing without the default theme of smf 1.1.10

please i am pretty new to smf and i have the version 1.1.10 but the problem i have is that:
1. i cant add adverts to it without using the default theme which i dont like.
2. I cant use the chat mod without using the default theme.
so please which version can i use  those features without using the default theme. Or is there any other way i can do this with smf 1.1.10

If the mods are not working with Custom Themes, they need to be manually installed.

For SMF 1.1 mods will only install to the default theme.
