I just put up a site, Mambo 4.5.2.1, SMF bridge 3.0.2 and SMF 1.0.2
On the local machine registration worked fine but on the live site after
completing the form and clicking send registration it hangs and doesn't open up
the main page until clicking on the send registration button again which gives
the popup message the username already exists...

I checked several times while I was waiting for the page to 'refresh', in the Mambo
Administration, the test accounts were added but I was still stuck on the registration screen.

What did I mess up ??? and is there a easy fix please  :)

If you look in SMF's user manager, does the user get added there as well?

Yes, the user is added to both Mambo & SMF but the page doesn't refresh or anything...
I end up hitting the submit button again, get the message the username/password is already in use. Please try another....then I'm back at the registration page........

I updated SMF from 1.0.2 to 1.0.3 via the Package Manager and also ran the update in Mambo (Components-SMF Forum-Update)

tried to register, page still hangs but user is added to both Mambo & SMF

I then updated the bridge files from 3.0.2 to 3.1.2, at first login attempt I got an error, call to a non member object on line 46 (or similar, can't recall exactly) so I tried to revert back to 3.0.2, more login problems, retried 3.1.2, logins are working *whew*

still the registration page does nothing after clicking the send registration button...

I have tried IE & Firefox browsers with the same results.

I left the Firefox window alone and eventually got a 500 INTERNAL SERVER ERROR
Checked the error log and it reports the following:

[error] [client xx.xxx.xx.xxx [nofollow]] Premature end of script headers: php-script, referer: http://www.chromedoutryderz.com/chromedoutryderz/index.php?option=com_smf_registration&task=register [nofollow]
[error] [client xx.xxx.xx.xxx [nofollow]] Premature end of script headers: php-script, referer: http://www.chromedoutryderz.com/chromedoutryderz/index.php?option=com_smf_registration&Itemid=59&task=register [nofollow]

Any fix?

****Disclaimer: I left the URL in case someone wants to test, however since the site is up the members have been posting photos. Some may be a little on the rauncy side but not XXX rated. There is an image scroller on the frontpage****

Just updating this thread...

The Internal Server Errors were not only happening when using the SMF registration module, but also the Mambo Registration, and Contact forms.

I'm not sure what the problem was or what the fix was for that matter. According to emails from tech support, it may have been related to the sendmail function. In any event the web hosting company migrated the account to a different server and after manually updating all the paths, everything is working fine.

;D
