Extremely urgent problem

I have a forum which is about local political politics. This area has a history of corruption, and violence which we try to stop. I have version SMF 2.0 RC1.2 up on the site. I have a private room there for government insiders to let us know what is really going on. I created a membergroup for that room, and set their permissions, and the membergroups permissions. No membergroup but that one should have access. Twice in the last two days several regular members gained access to the room who are not in that membergroup. I can not figure out how they are getting in. Any ideas? I have another private room setup almost identical, and do not have that problem. I never had a problem with the old versions. What was being discussed in that room yesterday, could get someone in deep trouble if the wrong people found out. Thank you for your time.

An update. Several have accessed the room one time. When they go back to it, it is not there. Is this a PHP sessions problem maybe?

Can you post a screenshot of the board permission?

Just my opinion BUT you and your members are foolish to be posting any political information that could result in getting posters in "deep trouble". As you see from your experience this sensitive information is not secure from your regular members. And given the state of the internet and the resourses of government agencies you could never secure digital information from them. Considering this is a free open source program makes it extra impossible to make it secure.
I think your "Extremely urgent problem" is not that others can read this but that it is being writen at all.  :o
Never argue with an Idiot like myself, they just drag you down to their level then beat you with experience.

Well what would you recommend to replace it? No info has been posted in this version yet. It is hosted in Russia with bogus whois data. The people in it are the police, district attorney, etc..

I'm afraid you're hooped. There isn't an encryption program that someone hasn't decoded.
There is nothing in the internet world that can't be tracked or hacked by the resourceful inquiring mind.
Best policy is that if people aren't prepaired to take responsibility or accept the consequences for what they post, don't post it. Every action while connected to the internet is trackable no matter how well you think your tracks are covered.

Wow I find it hard to believe that this caliber of individuals are not aware of their exposure. For your sake I hope you are not promoting your forum as secure. This could put you in a liable position.

As an after thought, SMF records posters IP address. Anyone who knows what they are doing can track a poster to their home and if linked to google map can get a graphical pin point.
Even using a proxy is no guarantee of anonymity.
