Hi, if you have the database backed up already. In the site control panel, use phpMyAdmin and "Import" the database.

Please see:

How do I restore a database backup?

If at first you don't succeed, use a bigger hammer. If that fails, read the manual.

More reading material. :)

How do I move my SMF forum to a different host?

Basically, download your site to your PC. Upload it to your new host, run repair_settings.php (What is repair_settings.php?), check the theme paths and you should be set to go.

One thing to watch for. When transferring the files in the attachments folder. Make sure the transfer type in your FTP client is set for "Binary". Otherwise your attachments could get corrupted.

Does this answer your question?

Thank you so much...

Alternatively, your new host should have been able to move your site for you with little to no trouble at all. It's good though that you are finding out how to do it. :)

You're welcome. :)

Even if you do get your new host to transfer your site. You will still need to run repair_settings.php to correct the paths and database info.

If, or when, you consider this to be resolved. Could you please click on the green "Mark Topic Solved" button below.
