Host suspended me, blamed SMF... help?

I don't know what I'm supposed to do here. Host suspended me, gave me a log and said my SMF script is overloading the SQL.

Can anyone decipher this?

It looks like Wordpress was also in the loop on this. Did you possibly bridge the two together? I also saw a possible invision board entry.

I haven't bridged WP with SMF that I know of.

I'm just not sure where to start "fixing" this. I've been using SMF for quite sometime without my host saying anything.

First, who is your host? Based on your domain info I'm guessing it's WebHostingBuzz which definitely looks like an overseller to me,
so I'd start by recommending you to start finding yourself a decent host.  Other than that, http://roughkut.com/kamp_v3/index.php seems to work just fine for me

Well, they unsuspended me so I can "fix" the problem. But I don't really know what the problem is.

I have a few hundred members, nothing much at all. I had thousands of people that I deleted today, but only a couple hundred are active. Never really more than 80-90 per day not including guests.

I don't understand how my SMF is using so much SQL all of a sudden, my forums have been MUCH more active than they are right now with no problems.

Yeah, I took a look at your stats and your forum is really quite small. Any mods installed that could cause extra traffic to the database?

I had the same (or at last similar) problem earlier this year.

Host suspended my account on the grounds that I was "overloading the server" and refused to unsuspend it unless I upgraded to a dedicated server.

I found myself a new host.

I had this problem a few months ago were my host Catalyst 2 were they turend my sql off and didnt inform me why till i got in touch with them when i got a man just saying its crashing the server and that the software was leaving too many ports open! I spoke to my friend from the code team uk who had a word with them as i was losing my rag with them and he explained to them its opene source the main site was fine as thats running CMS and so they blaimed it on SMF. So i uninstalled the update which was out at the time which i think was 2.0.1 and its been fine ever since how ever its got slow all of a sudden.

I will also say dont go with catalyst 2 expensive and you dont get alot for your moneyb

most webhost are not optimized to host forums. forums use more resources than a normal website. there is nothing much you can do but to move to a new host. there is a hosting board here at smf where you can find hosts that can handle your forum.

Yeah, looking at the logs you posted it's causing slow queries, on "their server". That host is an over seller, and one going for a large market share, tons of customers. Typically these hosts offer unlimited space and bandwidth, but restrict the users with their "resource usage policies".

On the other hand, it is quite possible that something is misconfigured on your forum causing the slow-queries - but the info they have provided is not enough to go by. Looking at the entries, I'd say it's their server's bad performance causing the slow queries. Most likely they have any overloaded server they are trying to clean up, so they are looking at these logs for abusers. However, because the server is probably overloaded, this is causing your queries to run slow.

Like other said already - look for a new host with well managed servers - or one that can at least offer more assistance diagnosing the problem.
