Upgrade from SMF 1.x to SMF 2.0

Hi,

I have only been using SMF for 3 days and really liked the way it works. However, I think the default theme for the latest version which is 2.0 is better than the one I have (www.huachingfoundation.com/forum)

May I ask help on how to upgrade from my current version to 2.0?

excuse me, but which one of those files should i donwload. in the instrucitons, it says UPGRADE PACKAGE. but which UPGRADE file should I download?

I have downloaded the file and now I'm about to go with the upgrade. I have one question though.

Will there be programming or editing some strings or part of the code? The reason why I am asking this is because I installed SMF 1.1 using Fantastico provided by my host.

I tried to email them yesterday and gave me a negative reply. So now I'm stuck in between, either wait for them to update Fantastico or upgrade the SMF in my forum manually.

Although the forum board is still new, I really don't want to reinstall the 1.1 again in case I f*cked up the whole system. I mean my website's forum.

So will there be a lot of coding involved when manually updating my SMF from 1.1 to 2.0?

No there isn't. All you have to do is upload the files to the right locations and then run the upgrade.php script in your browser. That only requires entering a few basic details like username and password.

oh i'm sorry. Is this going to be the USERNAME PASSWORD for my FTP server?

It should ask for your forum username and password.
