Is there any guesstimation, as to when version 2 is gonna be released as a stable version that i can feel safe in updating to. ?? Im sure it is gonna have some features i need badly such as a good stable chat, i just feel insecure upgrading and losing my whole forum.

No there is no timeline. It will be done when it is done. Things are going well with it though. Personally in my opinion I feel it is stable enough to use.

There is no chat feature in SMF 2. Nor do I suspect there ever will be by default - any chat you will have to add from our Mod Site or somewhere else.
