Flashing Event Date

Feature Request

I have looked around this forum and have not found anything like this request.
I would like it very much if my Calendar Events Current to Date would flash. Example all week people can see an oncoming birthday is approaching but there is nothing there to indicate the day is actually today. The way it displays now creates complacency. 
I would like the calendar to flash the event link display on the date of the event in question.
That would make it very easy to me to realize an event date very quickly

Ugh, flashing is the bane of the web, there was me thinking we left it behind 5 years ago... especially as it can actually be a health risk to flash things (epileptic users)

Slow flashing?

Slow flashing would be OK but it's likely to then be irritating rather than effective.

What about making it lary bright yellow, instead?


(I agree about the flashing, as it 'appens. But, the customer is always right)

Thanks you so much for your response. They went unnoticed, because I forgot to click notify
I asked for this flashing, but really I need e mail notification of birthdays, It seems by the time the date goes by , The Birthday, is long past.  I know there is a Birthday Post Mod but It doesn't support my version.
I do want to update, But I'm using digital  theme and I need the forum to stay the same. I cant afford anything loss or the stress caused by it.  I don't know anything about HTML, OR computer language at all, So This is a very scary thing to go through.  I have lots of mods and that will effect everything that I have working.
I'm so not sure about anything in this stuff.

Kath... When I upgraded from 1.1.10 to 1.1.11, none of my mods broke and I have forty-odd of them.


As long as you take a full backup, beforehand, you're covered, anyway.

Thank you for your response,
I did a backup in the admin area. I'm not really  sure how else to back up, Should I drag the whole domain to my hard drive? In other words, do I need to be prepared to completely rewrite the whole file system??

Thank you for your input, Kathleen, and sorry for not getting to this. I would assume the problem is solved by now.

This won't be a feature in SMF.
