Hey all,
I am not sure where to post this so please forgive me. I currently run SMF 1.X and I run a pretty active forum. Well, the server went down and I can't get in contact with the admin. I have access to another server through a friend of mine, and I just wanted t know if I could switch to the other server easily. Sorry for such the vague question, but any help is appreciated. Thanks so much.

Can you access to your current server or hosting account? If you can, then it is possible for you to move your website onto another server after following http://docs.simplemachines.org/index.php?topic=489.0

As long as you have the database/webspace files/access to the domain registers control panel to swap nameservers.

Its not a problem.

Thanks guys, I forgot to mention this. My website is ran on my web server while the db is pointed to another server but it is still housed on my web server. Not sure if you follow this. I will check into the documentation above. Can anyone else lend some assistance if need be with this new info? Thank you.

Regards,
Ross
