SMF Version: SMF 1.1 RC3
This has happened to me on 2 different versions of SMF (both rc`s) I'm not saying it's that and it probably isn't. I think it's more a server problem. Everytime I upload (and this includes installing) after I get done installing or uploading anything I lose ownership of my files.

I just uploaded a theme "default_Modern" through the package manager and modified it all so it would work with rc3 and had it going. Seeing as this has happened before I keep checking who owns my files through ftp. If I own them the numbers 32019 are displayed If "Nobody" owns them then it show 99

Once "Nobody" owns them I can't do anything with them. I understand it's because I don't own them but why for the love of god does this keep happening. This makes it VERY hard to work on anything new you have just uploaded. Can anyone help me out here.....please.

try change permissions in file manager at CPanel-vDeck-Plesk...

Bigguy

The permissions won't change because I don't own the files.

Probably because of the way your uploading them. Just upload them manually via FTP and then install them.

See this (http://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?topic=28393.0) for a workaround

Thanks for this I`ll try it in a bit. I always upload via ftp and this always happens, but I am going to try this.

Would it be safe to say that Apache runs as nobody (99) and that when you upload something to it it changes the file ownership to that (99) unless your running your server with phpsuexec compiled.
