template change issues

I thought I was super cleaver when I started installing integrating this forum with my current look of the website that I am designing. I have a body section of the website I am designing and basically changed the template file to reflect my design (basically, I pasted ALL of the template code in a table I have for my universal template and saved that as the new BoardIndex.template) However, when it is desplayed, it takes the whole ball of wax and puts it underneath the entire document... what am I doing wrong??

I don't mean to be critical, but how are we supposed to know what your integral look is supposed to be if we can only see one page?
