Nice permissions

I initially suggested somewhat cheekily in the SD board I should just post this with "dowant" in true Internet tradition, but I'm just not that mean.

We just revamped SD permissions, which I'll expand on fully in a blog article soon. But this is what we came up with.





Putting aside the templates bit for a minute (since that's how we're doing it), the first screenshot gives you an overview of the groups there are, and the permissions each has (and each icon has a fuller tooltip to explain what level the permission is), and the second gives you an at-a-glance state of things.


As I said in the SD discussion, SMF's permissions aren't *bad*. They're functional and usable, but nothing spectacular.

And considering I'm not a UI designer, I don't think I did badly on this one. *happy face*

It can be done by revamping it to make it more friendly, would like to see that happen sometimes in the future. This is not really necessary for all mods, SMF's permission works fine for most mods, this is ideal for large mods mostly.

Those are awesome!!! I'm assuming the Alt text displays the permission name too . Great idea!!

Just to clarify the alt text for each permission displays a full description of the permission.
