Removing age from registration process

My site is very "age neutral," and about 95% minors {teens to be exact}. Having seen horrid incidents on sites like social networks etc. I know it'd be a nightmare for me to ever see anything harm happen to one of my members much less an underage one in connexion to my site. I see no reason why age and birthdates should have to be published anywhere on my site, that'd be more of a personal choice; either for registration or in profiles. We already forbid our members under 18 from distributing any personal info online and age is a big part of that. We are a very "internet anonymous" style forum. I have been seeking help regarding the removal of these fields from my site yet still have yet to get anywhere with it.  Can anyone help me with this?

I don't know exactly how to as I'm not infront of my computer, but your members can choose whether to show their DoB and age, from their profile...

If you turn off the COPPA restriction in Admin > Registration > Settings, there should be nothing about age on the registration.

There was no COPPA option in mine at all. There was a restriction option, but that was always off and even with it off you still have to input age/date of birth to register. I just don't see a reason why I have to require that on my forum: we don't offer anything close to adult {PG only} nor do we cater specifically to kids. I can see why it's a default setting though. I have ultimate profile installed, age field is there, but I'd like to also remove that.

It isn't there in a default installation of 1.1.11. What are all the settings in Admin > Registration > Settings? What other mods do you have?

As for Ultimate Profile you'll have to ask them about that.

If I can just find the file where the age stuff is stored at, or files, I could probably figure out how to strip it out, but can't find where. Even if the registration has to require age, I'd just like it removed from the visible area on profiles.

Displaying it in the profile is in Profile.template.php. Can't say any more than that without knowing whether your theme has a custom template for that area or not.
