What does this error mean? Hosting problems?

Connection Problems
Sorry, SMF was unable to connect to the database. This may be caused by the server being busy. Please try again later.

Hi, that will happen on occasion if the server is being reset or something.

If it happens regularly, I would suggest that you contact your host about it.

If at first you don't succeed, use a bigger hammer. If that fails, read the manual.

Shouldnt it effect all sites though? Its only effecting (or affecting... no idea which one :P) one site at the moment.

Sorry for the stupidity - never had the error before.

I think mySQL is getting timed out for your SMF forum. It won't affect all sites..

PurpleCrow

Is there anything I can do to get it working again?

Go into your site Control Panel and see if you can access that database using phpMyAdmin.

If you can't, contact your host about it.

If you can. Open Setting.php at the root of you forums and verify the database settings there.

If at first you don't succeed, use a bigger hammer. If that fails, read the manual.
