smf homepage

might be a really stupid question but i plan to use smf for a site wich is not only a forum but also a sort of portal /
news site.
Normaly i would use mambo joomla etc etc but then i have to use bridges and all kinds of linking  progs

Soooo my question i love the main site of you here and i just wanted to know what are you using for it
i dont mind forums only but the whole picture is this something wich is available with differend themes aswell
or is it homebrew and not free to get or use

the main page is done by using SSI.php feature of SMF, you could also use various portal Simple Portal, Tinyportal Dream portal etc

yep i did notice the differend portas to use with smf but they all seem so premade portalthingylikestyle
thats why i thought well just see how they did this
i dont really get that ssi workings but ill try to scout the forums here to get any wiser on that

ahhh will do when im off from work and got the latest forum installed (somehow if i install the new one it doest take my
ftp login and turns back to the same screen ,have to find out what thats causing first )
