1.1.12 Upgrade Errors

I tried searching for this but the results were so varied and my connection so slow that I simply gave up. I apologize, because I'm sure that this has been answered.

I have just tried to upgrade a forum (installed through Fantastico) to 1.1.12. I have tried both the automatic upgrade from the packages page as well as doing uploading the small upgrade downloaded from the downloads page. The first solution takes me to the home page without any upgrade. The second gives the following error:

The package you tried to upload either is not a valid package or has become corrupted.

I love SMF but am having more and more problems with it over the past year or so, and am becoming frustrated. This is not the first time I've encountered this error, and the last time I simply gave up.

I hope that somebody can help. I would rather not have to manually install everything because I'm on a very slow connection at the moment, and it would literally take hours.

Try downloading this:

http://custom.simplemachines.org/mods/downloads/smf_patch_1.0.20_1.1.12.tar.gz

and upgrading via Package manager, with it.

I didn't see that file listed on the download page. I couldn't have, since I tried everything else and nothing worked. But that did! Thank you so much!
