This won't help you with spammers :S

You can try to make use of this mod by using Version Emulate Dropdown to bypass the version check in the package manager though.

Thanks for the quick reply. Any suggestions then for how to stop spammers in version 1.1.11? We're newbies so we didn't even understand what you said about how we could use the other modification. Thanks!

OK to answer your second question first, the package manager where you add modifications does a check on the modification before installing it, to check the versions the package says it supports.

A mod even if it works on 1.1.11 may not tell the package manager that, so the mod I linked overrides it.

As for your first question, there's a whole category of mods for spam prevention on the mod site... under Anti Spam Mods.

If you have any problems please consider using either the 1.x Support board or the 1.x Concerns board for Charter Members, you will likely get a better response there than in this mod-specific thread.

Since you're a charter member, they should appear in the main board listing for you, in the Charter Members Only category.
