So my apologies if I am just making a general mistake in the set up.

My issue is that when I logon to the forum as either administrator or user, quite often drilling into another section will show that I'm not logged in.
However if i copy the phpsessid before clicking and click into a table adding the phpsessid on the end, it remembers I'm logged in

I have run the table maintenance etc etc, nothing fixed it.
BTW, the forum runs fine in the guest mode, open tables read posts etc.

So i have the following mods, i have uninstalled them all, then turned on one by one... but this does not go away.
Mod Name    Version
1.    EmailValidator    1.0    [ Uninstall ] [ List Files ] [ Delete ]
2.    Join Reason    1.2.1    [ Uninstall ] [ List Files ] [ Delete ]
3.    Reason For Editing Mod    2.3.2    [ Uninstall ] [ List Files ] [ Delete ]
4.    Ad Managment    2.3.6.1    [ Uninstall ] [ List Files ] [ Delete ]
5.    Active Members In Topic    1.8    [ Uninstall ] [ List Files ] [ Delete ]
6.    Auto Email Inactive Users    1.7    [ Apply Mod ] [ List Files ] [ Delete ]
7.    Double Post Stopper    1.1    [ Apply Mod ] [ List Files ] [ Delete ]
8.    SMF Sitemap    1.2.2    [ Uninstall ] [ List Files ] [ Delete ]
9.    H1 Tags in link tree    1.1    [ Uninstall ] [ List Files ] [ Delete ]
10.    Pretty URLs    1.0RC4    [ Apply Mod ] [ List Files ] [ Delete ]
11.    SimpleSEF    1.1    [ Uninstall ] [ List Files ] [ Delete ]

Open to any thoughts on this one please.

Illori

please contact your host, you should only see a phpsessid on hosts that are not configured correctly. you should be able to use cookies and not phpsessid, which may resolve some/all your issues.

zenra

Hi illori I know what you mean but how do I tell my web host that in a way they will understand?

Illori

explain to them the problem and have them look into a way to resolve it.

zenra

Well requests sent off to the hosting company, lets see where it leads us.

thank you

zenra

Okay hosting company

response 1
I can not see that cookies you are talking about.
could you please take the screen shot of that page where i can see the cookies and sent me so I can check from my end.

Sent snapshot of website with user login details

response 2
I see all the problems has been resolved, and there is no problem has occurred.
Moreover, the password isn't correct, so you can test it again

So... not a clue from here.

I am noticing that the login errors are really regular, every user, every login is bouncing to the login2 password incorrect. if you go get to login2, the next item you click shows you as logged out.

HELP....

Illori

i am not fully sure of the fix but it has been posted several times that it is a server issue, also do NOT pm someone with login information for your forum unless requested, it is also considered rude to pm people on this forum unless requested.

zenra

Ahh sorry Illori!
I'll dig further into the forums to see if I can find the fix.

zenra

so is this all down to having a unclean url ie showing the PHPSESSID.
And that is meant to be fixed via the hosting company

I have added the phpinfo.php to the forum, where insdie the info do i confirm the phpsession stuff

I have attached a copy of the infophp session settings

zenra

I am finally at bursting point.

Can I please be pm by someone who is willing to try and join my forum, to have a stab at what they see is the login issue.

A new user emailed me today say
Hi I joined your forum today but I can't post my question, as when I click new post it keeps on asking for my login again.

Thanks all

zenra

uninstalled the 1.1.12 and installed 2.0
