Definitely illegal. I hope you didn't use that, as who would know if they put something in the code that is malicious. When you go to the archive page that I told you, there is a drop down on the right that you can select your version of SMF.

They think it's free to distribute ("License: opensource"). Too bad they didn't bother reading license.txt before they put it up there.
