Dear SimpleMachines,

First I would like to thank you for an smooth and succesfull convert from one E107 Forum to SMF.
The converter did his job well! :D

Only I have one question about this.

Is it possible that I can convert two other E107 Forums and migrate this with the existing SMF Forum? So that he won't overwrite, but will continue from the existing latest thread/post ID's etc?

I look forward to your answer.

Regards,

Youri Kool

You mean, you want to merge three forums together in one of them?

Correct. I would like to merge the two other Forums too in the SMF Database. Is that possible?

It is possible indeed.

Although, there is no official tool available at the moment and without that, it is not really easy to do it.

Many have had a go through: http://resourcez.biz/index.php?action=tpmod;dl=item7

A few have succeeded with it.

One E107 -> SMF convert was succesfull, but now I need to merge 2 other Forums.
So with this tool I can convert these two forums to SMF and merge them with the first SMF Forum, right?

No, in order to convert, you'll have to use the conversion tools and the process in the same way as you did for the first conversion.

For merging the forums AFTER the conversion to SMF, try using the tool.

Okay, so first I need to install the SMF Forum on a different place. Than use the convert tool from e107 tot SMF and than I need to use the tool to merge them. Understood :)

Only I don't understand quite well what these steps means:
3. Edit this file in a text editor and change line 15 below to match the database prefix of the PRIMARY smf board, your main, largest board (define('PRIMARY_DB_PREFIX', 'smf_') - change smf_ to whatever you used...)
4. Save this modified file, put it in the directory for the SECONDARY, smaller smf installation and run it (just like you would run install.php or the converter).

I hope you can help me through.

Where the hell did you pick those instructions from? :P I think the instructions for converting to SMF are much simpler than that.

Youriboy

In the file his self as comments :P

3. Change "smf_" to the database prefix for the board that you want to merge the others with. This would be the SMF forum that you converted the first e107 forum to

4. Save changes to the file and put it in the directory of the forum that will be merged into the first one, then run it.

^^ Exactly that! :) Needs a bit of work in rewording the guidelines on the converter though..
