What mods are you using to reduce spammers?

I'm running a SMF that is getting hammered with spammers and I want to install a mod to combat the issue. There are quite a few to choose from, so I ask you- which one do use to solve this issue?

using version emulation http://custom.simplemachines.org/mods/index.php?mod=1516 this mod has kept more spammers off my forum then the other mods i have tried.
