Recently installed the Profile Fields & Icons Mod and made a little change. This mod adds extra profile fields (and icons) for Twitter, Facebook and MySpace. MySpace isn't used much in my country, here we have the so-called "Hyves" which is very popular, so I edited all the MySpace code.

So far, so good. I noticed that only 10 members were using ICQ, 5 members YIM and none AIM. Is it safe to either remove one or more of those fields (ofcourse both in the database and in the PHP files) or edit those to other profiles, like Ping! or LinkedIn? Or can this cause problems with future updates/patches?

Just turn them off here: ?action=admin;area=featuresettings;sa=profile;

Add that to the end of your forum url.. ie. http://www.examplesite.com/forums/index.php?action=admin;area=featuresettings;sa=profile;

Ok, haven't seen that before, thanks :) But that doesn't answer my question whether these items can be replaced? I can add new items, but if old ones aren't used anymore.... Get the point? :)

I think it would be safe but you have to remove the ability to try to input it in. So remove it from the profile modify template.

Might want to wait for a more experienced member to chime in first.
