The problem is visible on messageindex view so the problem is more than likely in your MessageIndex.template.php.

Looks like you removed the description class that the icons keys are contained in on the MessageIndex.template.php so it could be your editing of that area that has caused the problem.

Double check your coding in that area make sure you haven't say left a div there that shouldn't be.

It could be all sorts of things. Attaching MessageIndex.template.php and index.css would be a good place to start.
