and if it doesn't and if it is not...?

Why is my problem the host but the other threads that talked about the same error message weren't told the host was the problem?

I saw they were told that the issue might be on the host side of things and that the error message was all that came from smf...but they weren't told to change hosts. They were given some sort of problem to solve first--like the repairing settings. I don't know that my problems will just disappear unless you are actually psychic or something--and I'm freaked out enough that I'm not saying that sarcastically. Not that I'm asking for you tobe psychic of course.

different problems have different solutions, even if the problem looks similar it has different reasons for happening. your problem is with your host no way around it. if you dont believe us then we cant help you further.

PenelopeQ

Okay, here's a question, but maybe you won't know...

If I go to another host and tell them about this problem and that I'm worried that I will bring a problem with me...will they help me try and resolve it? Will they be able to check for me--once I'm transferred of course--and tell me that there is no longer a problem (so it was bh) or that there is a problem and they can help me troubleshoot?

Right now I just want someone who will help.

But how do you know my issue is with BH? Is there something you can see that I can't regarding my forum? Or is it simply because you are familiar with bh and you are making a guess--educated yes, but a guess based on history.

I need more information before I consider a switch in the midst of having issues. Like I already said, switching during a problem is overload for me. It's to much to freak out over.

Illori

you can transfer to a good known non-oversold host and have 0 problems. many people have moved from oversold hosts to non-oversold hosts where they had problems and have no problems once they move. if you are so worried try asking the host if you can have a trial on their server first to see if you have any issues, or buy a months hosting with them and see how it works.

Okay,

next question...

I think I'm still small. My blog just started so that's especially small. My forum has 641 actiavted members. For the last month the typical high count for the day is around 120 guests and users at a time--usually betweeln 4-6pm pacific.
Is that small?

Where do I find out how much space I am using?

I want to be big someday

Illori

try posting in the hosting requests board with your issues and someone will reply and help you out.

oldpilot

Lori I think has given you very good advice.

Thanks Lori for your patience with us newbies.

I do think that the fact that you started having trouble shortly before your renewal date is very telling.

I hadn't thought of that--good point.

Illori, I've contacted Christian at MonteCarlo. The reviews made him sound great--and hand-on.

Illori

i hope that helps to solve your problem quickly.
