New football forum

Hi, I've recently set up my own football forum for my team after becoming unhappy with a commercial site that began to fill its pages with ads and flash videos.

As an add on, i've noticed a certain SMF Prediction League mentioned in various areas around SMF, regarding forum users predicting the outcome of the teams next match and winning points for correct predictions etc, and having a league table for them to see how well they're competing against other members.

Something similar is done by predictionfootball.com but there is many security flaws with it.

Is there such an add on/mod? If there is this would create something unique to the forum which would help boost joining member numbers and keep people returning.

At least it's about proper football and not that girly American thing...

I'm not 100% sure what it is that you're after, AP&AP.

To break it down, the idea of the league is for users to predict the scoreline for the teams next fixture ie:

Tottenham 2 - 0 Liverpool

Points would then be awarded along the lines of:

0 for an incorrect result
1 for the right result, but wrong scoreline
2 for the right result and margin(Spurs won 2-0, you predicted 3-1)
3 for the right result and scoreline

Results would then be populated into a league table.

Just a bit of fun and to create a bit of friendly competition on the board.

Heh, heh. I'd pay to see a 400 pound American footballer chase you down (they're faster than they look) and stomp you flat.

I used to play Rugby, for many years.

Rugby players play harder than Yank "Football" players do, without all the girly padding.
