Well, 2.0 is still a beta and not suggested for "end user". I was hoping that someone can do this.

What is the ETA for 2.0? A month, two, three?
None of the above applies.

Arantor

2.0 RC2 should be sometime this month, with an RC3 to follow later this year, though it should be mostly bugfixes from anything thrown up in RC2.

Plenty of sites are already using 2.0 RC1.2 - this site for example.

The recycle bin is part of SMF since 1.0.X...., this feature is totally different and a great add to SMF as well.

With the recycle bin you won't know where is the topic that that message was part of, or which board was that topic part of. With soft delete the topic / message stills there but hidden. Like a "non approved message" but in this case, only Moderators can see. You can check how vB do this, is the same thinking.

SMF 7 is where it gets good. That has time travel. You can go back and post before the guy who flamed you. :P

Arantor

It looks like the Post Moderation system would have the framework for this, just looks like it would be a reasonably small change to deapprove posts.

However I really doubt this will be in 2.0.

Oh..., I about the release in 2.0, I am pretty sure that won't be possible. If I am not mistaken, it is already feature frozen. But, here it is one suggestion to a later release :)

Sorry to Necro here, any update on this?

QuoteI think you'll find that 2.0 has a recycle bin feature that pretty much covers this. Please note this topic is 2 years old; for such requests please open a new thread.

The Post Moderation feature covers this request better, actually, I think, as mentioned before. The ability to unapprove back, a topic that has been approved - implicitly or explicitly.
I'd say it would definitely not belong as an "extra" feature after the two that cover it, but as an enhancement of one of them - in this case, post moderation.
To-do lists are for deferral. The more things you write down the later they're done... until you have 100s of lists of things you don't do.
