Can't find previously used setting

Hi,

I recently added a new membergroup to deal with excessive spam.  I called it "spambots" and restricted those members to allow posting in only one board.  I found a setting that allowed me to choose the primary membergroup that a new member would join upon registration.  I changed the setting to my spambot membergroup, so theoretically, all new members should become spambots.  This did not work - all new registers are still becoming regular members, and now I can't seem to find the setting I had changed.  I am asking where this setting is:  "New members will join this membergroup upon registration".

that is not a default feature, by default everyone joins the regular members group. you would need a mod for this, or restrict the regular members group and  move the users into another group when you have verified they are human.
