Good day sir.
I am new in SMF and currently administering an SMF forum here in our school. My problem SMF experts is the members' membergroup is not upgrading even if they have already reached the desired "rank".

Here are my configurations sirs:

Group name:          Jr. Member
Group Type:        Topic Based
Visibility:              Visible
Inherit Permissions:     No - Use Unique Permission
Required topics:            10

Welcome to the site bloodyemo :)

Try changing 'Topic Based' to 'Post Based' and see if it solves your issue.

Arantor

I'd argue that whatever mod you're using is outdated and likely broken - topic based groups are not a standard feature of SMF.
Holder of controversial views, all of which my own.

Thank you sir ziycon for the warm welcome. ;D I have never seen such option sir. There were actually 4 options to choose.

Private (Membership must be assigned)
Protected (Only administrators can manage and assign)
Requestable (User may request membership)
Free (User may leave and join group at will)
Topic Based (Membership based on Topic count)

What do you means sir?

As this is not about THIS site, I've taken the liberty of moving it to the SMF v2 support board, on the assumption that you're using SMF v2.

bloodyemo

Yes sir. I am using SMF 2.0.2 sir. The upgrading of members in membergroups are based on Topic counts, not post counts. Is there any way sir to change this option?

kat

As Arantor said, "topic based groups" is not a standard feature of SMF.

Are you using a mod, or something, to do that?

bloodyemo

Got it sir! ;D Thank you so much! It was a mod.

kat

bloodyemo

Yes sir. It is ready on the mod. The mod that I have installed was Topic based. ;D Thank you SMF experts for the help. I am very newbie in SMF and have no knowledge in php. ;D
