Help with an error message please.

Hi There,

I'm fairly new to the forums, mostly I just lurk around, reading

I was wondering if anyone could give me a little bit of insight into this error message I'm getting.  I don't get it all the time, just every now and then when I've refreshed a page or added a new forum category.

Performance Warning
The cache directory is not writable - this will adversely affect the performance of your forum.

did you check if permissions are ok? you can check it either by ftp (Filezilla) or your using hosting file manager

I'm fairly new to this, usually I work with free hosting etc but decided to do it properly this time round.

Thanks for your response, I actually think you're right lol.  I'm going to check on that now, I didn't even consider that.

I won't mark as solved though incase I'm still having difficulty.  But again, thanks for pointing me in, what probably is, the right direction
