I used SMF about 5 years ago, and sadly went over to PHPBB. After a number of years struggling with keeping the forum stable, mods messing updates up, and a number of issues with automod, I decided SMF was the best way to go (based on reviews etc). I expected lots of problems converting back, as it was a quite heavily modified PHPBB install. But the only issue I had, was the double http:// on embedded images, which was easily fixed with a simple SQL.
It's taken a bit of getting used to on the admin side, but that's no big deal. But on the whole, I'm really pleased to have made the move back to SMF. And the user feedback has been great, with complements on loading times and ease of use etc.

All I need to fix now, is the inline attachments mod, which only seems to respect max-width settings only, and expanding portrait orientation thumbs to 500px wide, rather than leaving them at 500px high.

First class forum software, and wish I'd stuck with SMF all along ;-)

Welcome back then! :D

For the mod issue I'd suggest you to post in the mod support topic. ;)

Take a peek at what I'm doing! ;D
