Hi,
hope this is the correct forum to post this in.

I want to run a poll but not show the results to certain users. Probably only global mods and admin. Is there anyway that this could be done? i've had a search around but cannot find anything that seems to do this so far.

any help appreciated thanks

It's not. :(

I'll move it. :) (Assuming you're using SMF v2)

When you start a poll, you'll see these options, with the heading "Result visibility":

Show the poll's results to anyone.
Only show the results after someone has voted.
Only show the results after the poll has expired:

Pretty self-explanatory. :)

i appreciate your replies (thanks for moving to the correct board) but i have to point out that A. I read the wiki and B. that doesn't answer the question i asked which is why i posted the question.

I asked 'I want to run a poll but not show the results to certain users. Probably only global mods and admin.'

The options i get as you correctly point out are 'Show the poll's results to anyone.' or the other options just show it after it finishes to everyone.  there does not seem to be a 'show results to specified users' unless i am missing something.

I really want to run a blind poll so that only i (as Admin) get to see the results.

Is there someway of doing this?

thanks

no... there is not any way to do that with the default installation. The options that you see are the options that there are...  If there was the ability to do what you are asking, it would have been detailed in the wiki.

there may be a mod to perform other options, but I don't know of it.

thanks for the replies.

Yeah i had a look for a mod but couldn't find one. Any pointers as to how i'd begin coding it to do this? i'm not even sure which file to start looking at as i am pretty new to SMF (which so far is proving excellent for the intranet that i am using it for).

many thanks
