How to stay on same page after login

having resolved the 404 issue (in another thread)...is there another way to keep the user on the same page after he logs in ...the one mod is giving me the 404 error...the other mod that redirects on login has always shown an error on trying to install....

it's just kind of a minor annoyance....but is there a simple way to do this?
