phpnuke 7.4 -> SMF 1.0.5

Is it possible?

We're developing a new site and have decided to use SMF as I have used it in the past and been very happy with it.

Ideally we do not want to lose the member signups (posts are a secondary priority - members is the real problem).

The version of phpNuke is 7.4, the version of "phpBB" is 2.0.10 and the version of SMF is 1.0.5

I've tried using the converter in the Downloads page but it doesn't seem to play ball at all.

I'm not 100% sure what other information would be helpful to sort the problem - any assistance would be greatly appreciated and save me a big headache :)

Thanks
Johnathan

Wow... It's about time someone integrated SMF and phpnuke :)

foxed

Thanks for the response ... but I don't want to use phpnuke - I want to use SMF standalone and get my members from nuke to smf :)

Sorry - I didn't make that very clear  :-[

p.s

Both phpnuke and smf are using the same database - same users. The only difference is the prefix.

Try upgrading phpNuke to 7.7 and then use the converter that [Unknown] posted in the phpnuke topic... That should work.

foxed

Ok - nuke has been updated to 7.7 ... every time I run the converter though it keeps telling me it cant find the settings for phpbb2 :(

foxed

p.s if I use:

/home/dcuke/public_html/modules/Forums

As the path to phpbb2 I get:

Notice: Undefined variable: dbname in /home/dcuke/public_html/smf/phpbb2_to_smf.php on line 132

Notice: Undefined variable: table_prefix in /home/dcuke/public_html/smf/phpbb2_to_smf.php on line 132
Converting...
Sorry, the database connection information used in the specified installation of SMF cannot access the installation of phpBB2. This may either mean that the installation doesn't exist, or that the MySQL account used does not have permissions to access it.

If I use:

/home/dcuke/public_html/

It just says it can't find the settings ...

Where is the "includes/constants.php" file?  How about config.php?  Those are the files it's looking for.

Is your database name in config.php?  Is it not $dbname but some other variable?

- includes/constants.php is here /home/dcuke/public_html/includes/constants.php

- config.php is at root level /home/dcuke/public_html/config.php

- $dbname is specified as $dbname = "dcuke_nuke1"; in config.php

NEVERMIND!!  :D

I installed 1.1 Beta 3 and ran the new converter at the top of this page ... ran like a dream ... fantastic work SMF yet again :)

One small problem though - my user was previously an admin on the Nuke installation - it isnt an admin on the SMF install - how would I go about fixing that?

EDIT:- Nevermind - fixed it, it only transferred the main admin - easy to fix.

All in all - very good :)

foxed

Ok - ran into a problem.

Everything has migrated properly (with the exception of Registration Dates but I'm not too fussed about that).

The problem I have now, is that every time I create a new category or board parts of the SSI.php start to fail - to see what I mean goto www.dc-uke.co.uk/smf2/ssi_examples.php - scroll to the bottom.

Additionally, I have tried to use the latest news SSI function on a page - with the following output - http://www.dc-uke.co.uk/newsite/

Any help greatly appreciated.
Cheers
