When I tried to log into this forum today...

I tried to log in, the first two times said no such username, or something akin to that.  Then of course I was much more careful and punched it in twice more.  Same thing.  So I reapplied for a new account, then tried it one more time, just for the heck of it.  Of course, after I did that, then it worked.  All five times, it was the same username and password used.

Are you sure you didn't have capslock on or something of the sort?

Sorry about the delay, I forgot to suscribe to the thread!  Yes, I am sure the capslock was not on.  I had checked that.

Must have been a typo somewhere, the software will not give that error if the username does exist.

That's what I thought, that it was a very strange happenstance.  But what happened next is just as strange... I reapplied for the same username, and didn't get a rejection as I expected.  You know what I am saying?  If the name exists in your databank, shouldn't I have gotten a message telling me the name was taken?   But I suppose it doesn't really matter until it comes up again.  Judging by your response, it seems like an isolated incident.

I have noticed  lately, that as my keyboard ages, occasionally it leaves a blank space where none was typed.  That this phenomenon happened multiple times consecutively, or why I could submit a re-application with the same username on it, is highly unlikely covered by an occasional extra space.  Not five times over.

I wish I could tell you whether or not the re-application reply was ever sent, but I can't because I wasn't paying attention.
