406 Not Acceptable

This morning when I attempted to go to my website, I got this instead:

Not Acceptable

An appropriate representation of the requested resource /forum/index.php could not be found on this server.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

Did you check with your host?

Did you make any previous changes (installed / removed mods)?

No, nothing has changed in months on my end. I am not sure if my host did anything.

I have tried this = http://wiki.simplemachines.org/smf/Mod_security_-_Having_problems_with_mod_security

But not working, so I will have to contact my host

Using the above method I can get to this:

http://ugc.nvincible.com/forum/ [nofollow]

but everything else is 406

If you are on shared hosting then you want to make sure to check with them and get them disable mod security for your site.

Ensure to update your SMF after resolving.

If you can check your error logs in SMF and server.

I am not sure if my host did anything.

I'm betting they switched on mod_sec, just as mine did one night a year ago.

It seems the .htaccess solution worked, it just took a few minutes for the server to acknowledge.

I saw the email about the update and planned to update after Christmas, looks like I will be doing it today.
