Hello,
I have a problem about a package "SimpleDesk" (http://custom.simplemachines.org/mods/index.php?mod=2491)
I have uploaded then when i try to install it, it say "Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 33554432 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 156898 bytes) in /home/wwwapfew/public_html/Sources/Subs-Package.php on line 1879" and sometimes on the line 2072.
I have already installed it in the past....
I got other package works, only this one make me the error.

I have:
Forum version: SMF 2.0.4
Current SMF version: SMF 2.0.4
Packages: KeyCAPTCHA for SMF; SteamProfile Ajax Mod; SimplePortal

On the mod's page, which you linked to, you'll see this:

If you click that, you'll be taken to the mod's support topic.

Quite why you posted in "Bug reports", which is for reporting bugs in SMF, itself, I really don't know.

Still...

And there is no point in doing that for SimpleDesk, as the topic is locked, with all support carried out on simpledesk.net.

But there is precisely zero that the SD folks can do - most large mods are going to fail on the installer on that server configuration, simply because there's not the memory available nor can PHP expand it on demand.
Holder of controversial views, all of which my own.

Ah. I hadn't realise that, me ol' china.

I guess that error's one of those "Take it up with your host" things, then, as it'll need edits made to php.ini?

so, the host is the problem? D:

kat

Yeah. If you tell them what you've told us, they might be able to help you out.

Depending on who your host is, of course. They might just tell you go sling your hook. Worth asking, though. :)

That's simple. This forum is poorly laid out, as I've said many times before. The "Bug reports" is physically higher in the list than "SMF 2.x Support". It is seen first. Where do you think that a noob is going to make their posts? This is elementary Human Factors.

kat

I can't fault your logic.

The actual support pages are far too way down that list, too.

Still, seems we're stuck with it. :(
