I am creating a flash blog website for myself and want it to be 'powered' by SMF. Its easy enough to get posts from SMF for the flash page but my problem is how i get people to reply without having to make them go to the forum first. I could make it a link that opens up the typical reply page but the problem is that after people reply, it'll take them right back to the forum instead of going back to the original page (or preferably, closing the pop up window).

I guess it falls down to 3 questions.

1. Is there a way to create a basic reply page? For instance, if i used the news feature on my front page and want to add a reply box underneath the news, how would i do that?

2. If thats not possible, is it possible to have a link for the reply that opens a pop up box that closes after it posts the reply?

3. Or if none of that is possible, (last resort!) Is it possible to insert data directly into the tables to make the replies?

People would have the option to go directly to the forum and not worry about using the blog interface but for the most part, i want them to be able to read and reply using the flash blog.

Oh, one more thing, is there a limit on SMF on how many boards there are? Does it affect load time if i had many 'invisible' boards. By invisible, i mean, when most groups don't have permissions to see or read it. It really just doesn't get loaded right?

you can try using SSI, which can be found
http://www.simplemachines.org/community/ssi_examples.php (its also the same on your boards)

having many "invisible" boards wont slow your site down
