Researching on this subject I found that using custom fields in the register of members, can easily put the location in the messages. The Arantor that gave the hint-> http://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?topic=262231.msg3549394#msg3549394

Since when I created the Forum members put the locale standard in that field. Wanted to run an sql command to copy these locations to the new custom field.

Does anyone have any tips? I am not found in the database of the Forum the table that stores the information from the custom fields.

I found that the default locale of the register is in smf_members.location.
The data on the new fields is in smf_custom_fields
Lack discover where is the registered data in this new custom field. (should be in my face I'm not finding :()

Searched in this table smf_settings . Haven't found the fields.

Are you sure that this is the correct table?

Had seen this Mods. More wanted to put this feature without installing mods.

Oops...   Smf_themes, not settings... 'doh

why are you trying to avoid mods. You were asking how I manually code the update into display.template.php when the mod does exactly that, automatically... And stores a record of the changes so, if you ever have to restore, you can do a reinstall....

This solved. I ended up installing the mod mentioned above.

Moreover I am curious where are saved the data from custom fields.

Not on Smf_themes as well. ...

Thank you very much.

Now I looked with more conviction and found it. The way this is very complicated, copy the data from smf_members to smf_themes. Would have to do a PHP script to migrate this data.

I'll leave it like this.
