Whenever a member registers on my forum, the person can not log in because it will display waiting for admin confirmation yet i dnt see any page or request for me to approve members registration . Pls what could be the cause of this and how do i solve the problem?

kat

You'll usually see it just below the:

Show unread posts since last visit.
Show new replies to your posts.

thing, top-left. It's not terribly obvious, I'm afraid. I had to hack the code around, on my forum, to make it flash at me.

Am still not seeing it please what how do i make it flash at me? or is there anyway or maybe a mod i will install so that registered members can be welcomed automatically and can log in seconds after registration and if so please is it safe?

kat

It's not very safe, really, because of those morons who post Spam. Although, you could try one of the anti-spam mods.

To make their registration immediate, just go to Admin>Registration>Settings and change "Method of registration employed for new members" to "Immediate registration".

Make sure you have some good Questions defined, for applicants to answer. It wouldn't hurt (but might not help that much) to turn up the CAPTCHA (visual puzzle) level as high as you can stand it. Consider some of the mods that look up registrants in a database of known spammers, and reject them.

Don't do "immediate registration". At least require registrants to respond to an email after registering. Don't allow signatures or links in posts until they have made some reasonable number of posts.
