Hi

Where would I look in the code base to make an adjustment that sent a new topic or post reply url, topic subject, and author name..  to another php script, separate mysql db or log whatever

Could it be done as a mod without having to edit any base files ? I don't mind which .any coding bits or complete code would  be good if its modding way, otherwise just knowing where I could insert a little extra php in the base to get it work would be fine.

Thanks

p/s. This image verification is the worst I've ever seen.. are you sure its for humans?

you will have to be a little more clear and a little more specific...

sned a new post to another script...   WHEN?   The moment it is made?
To what end? (what is the ultimate goal of your plan?)
If we know that, we can either suggest how to code it or suggest the better way to actually accomplish whatevere you are trying to accomplish.

Well I have a php script that can send back text messages to a gameserver, wanting to tie in the activity on the forum letting those in game know when topics/replies are posted, by whom and subject title/url etc

"The moment it is made?"

yeh when a new topic/comment is made

well...   for a new topic,
http://wiki.simplemachines.org/smf/Integration_hooks#integrate_create_topic

but that won't help with new posts in an existing thread/topic...
I don't think that 2.0 has a hook for that.

you could always just parse the RSS feed.

What about directly editing a base file... would it be sources/Post.php ?

Kindred

no... subs-post.php, just like the hook

probably after the call to either the post or post2 fucntions
