Session Timeouts & Registration Issues

Ok I'm not sure if this is an SMF problem or something in my main joomla site, but basically I have my SMF set "Seconds before an unused session timeout = 9223372036854775807" yet I keep having to relogin to my forum every hour or so. This is just annoying at this point. A few details. I am using SMF 2.0.5 as a slave to Joomla 2.5 with JFusion handling the crosstalk. Another unrelated issue I am having is that I have disabled SMF Registration and yet in JFusion it shows as still being active. Also the register button is not going away with registration disabled. When it is clicked it says "Registration for this board is disabled". I simply wish to get rid of it altogether. url for board is hxxp:praetoria.invisionary.com/forums [nonactive] for reference.

Lastly, I tried putting a custom banner at the top where it says "Praetoria" using the logo option, but the logo ends up covering up the user info and winds up with a missing image in all pages except the main page, so I got rid of it. it appears to be taking the url and adding some funkiness to the middle of the source, instead of being Themes/Praetoria_Banner.jpg it becomes hxxp:praetoria.invisionary.com/forums/index.php/Themes/Praetoria_Banner.jpg [nonactive]

This may be a theme issue but I'm not exactly sure how to fix it. Anyway thanks in advance for any help.

Firstly, the registration button doesn't go away when disabled. It is, apparently, so by design. I personally consider it a bug, but there's quite a bit to change to deal with that properly.

As for the seconds stuff, you're really NOT supposed to set that value that high, odds are it will thoroughly screw up your database in due course. In any case the issue is almost certainly the fault of the jFusion bridge not setting it up properly in the first place (since it's the bridge setting up sessions and timeouts, so you'd be best advised to contact the bridge authors)

When you added the banner, what *exactly* did you change?

I changed nothing more than added a url in to the field it asks for it in:

Theme Options and Preferences  |  Logo image URL: URL Here
(leave blank to show forum name or default logo.)

As for the JFusion thing. It is setup properly.. Everything works perfectly, except SMF being a slave without registration enabled. This is the message I get:

smf2: needs to have user registration disabled as it is a slave. Users that register in a slave software can not login to Joomla

Yet I have checked off "Disabled Registration" in SMF.

Themes/Praetoria_Banner.jpg

Which is it's relative location. When I put a absolute location it gives me an error on every page not just some pages.

Arantor

What absolute location were you putting in, exactly?

I'm also wondering what you may have done to your index.template.php file in the course of modifying it previously.

hxxp:praetoria.invisionary.com/forums/Themes/Praetoria_Banner.jpg [nonactive]

Arantor

And what error do you get, exactly, if you insert that?

I'm still wondering what you may or may not have changed in index.template.php when you customised the theme. You could always upload it here for us to take a look at...
