Yeah,you are right. I have just replaced bg and hover bg gifs with empty ones it does the trick.
Can I use .png instead of .gif for bbc icons. Since this pack i downloaded is all .png and when i try to convert them in photoshop i lose a lot of quality :S

That would require changes to the code in GenericControls.template.php, for the sImage definition. You could change it but it's not really recommended.
